Sometimes you will find that a correspondent’s mail is being flagged as possible spam when it isn’t – or when it is but you still wish to receive it. You can over-ride the spam warning lists by adding the correspondent to your Known address list.
Similarly, you may be receiving mail from a source which you consider spam, even though none of our lists are flagging it.
You can set a
- known host – a rule which allows or blocks all mail from a particular internet IP address
- known domain – a rule which allows or blocks all mail from any user in a domain
- known email address – a rule which allows or blocks all mail from a specific email address
To set a known rule, just visit the appropriate menu on the relevant admin page and add a new rule. The content of the rule is
- the IP address, domain, or email address you wish to block or accept.
- the action to take.
For example:-
| Rule Type | Value | Action | Edit One |
|---|---|---|---|
| Known Address | fred@bloggs.com | Accept | Edit Known Addresses |
| Known Domain | spammer.com | Warn | Edit Known Domains |
| Known Host | 192.168.1.43 | Block | Edit Known Hosts |
