A problem which stopped MS Outlook mail client from authenticating itself to us for sending mail with SMTP has now been fixed.
Outlook users should configure their clients with:
Servers:
imap.tidymail.co.uk
Incoming mail (IMAP)
post.tidymail.co.uk
Outgoing mail (SMTP)
NOT
secure password authentication
Yes
server requires authentication
Advanced:
25
outgoing mail (SMTP)
NOT
secure password authentication
Yes
server requires a secure connection (SSL)
We also strongly recommend using secure IMAP (port 993) in preference to unsecured IMAP (port 143), and using IMAP which is both more flexible and slightly more efficient than POP.
